Graduate Certificate in
Cultural Education (GCCE) Program

April to May 2011

This Summer 2011, Letran Calamba Culture and Arts Department and the Graduate School and Professional Services will offer the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) Graduate Certificate in Cultural Education (GCCE) Program.

The National Commission for Culture and the Arts emboldened by the support of the Philippine national government though Republic Act No. 10066 or the Philippine National Cultural Heritage Law which provides for the incorporation of cultural heritage education programs into the formal, alternative and informal education, continually develops projects and programs to address this objective.

One of these projects is the Graduate Certificate in Cultural Education, a two-summer, 24-unit post-baccalaureate program. The program offers foundation and major courses to enhance the students’ understanding of the basic theories, processes and application of arts, culture and heritage in the culture-based teaching of the basic education curriculum. Students who complete the program are qualified to proceed to its masteral level.

Colegio de San Juan de Letran is among the higher education institution (HEI) partners of NCCA in this undertaking.

Letran is inviting faculty members, administrators, and office personnel to enroll in the program. The first half of the program, consisting of 12 units in 24 days, will be held from April to May 2011, while the second half will be implemented on the same period in 2012. Venues will be at Colegio de San Juan de Letran Calamba and selected learning sites.

Admission requirements
• Must be of good moral standing
• Must have completed a Bachelor degree with general weighted average of 85% or equivalent
• Must be willing to attend and participate in the program on full time basis

Documentary Requirements

Applicants must submit the following:
• Duly accomplished application form
• Original copy of Birth certificate (NSO certified)
• Original transcript of records
• Recommendation/endorsement letter from the unit head
• 3 copies 2 x 2 ID photo
