Colegio hails Letranites batch 2008!

On April 1, 2008, some 600 plus Letranites will march donned in colorful regalia representing their different collegiate degrees as they are bestowed their college diplomas.  Traditionally held at the main field of the campus, the afternoon ceremonies will be made even more historical with the inclusion of the first batch of 170 plus nursing graduates.

For the 26th college graduation, the distinguished commencement speaker will be Rev. Fr. Rolando V. dela Rosa, O.P., former CHED Commissioner and former Rector and President of the Colegio, under whose term the BS Nursing program came into being.  The Colegio believes that as former CHED Commissioner, Fr. dela Rosa understands the importance of education to the future of our country and its people, which has always been the hallmark of his rhetoric and action.

Several video presentations, recalling the year that was, will also make the whole college commencement program more poignant.   The ceremonies will be capped with the traditional celebratory fireworks, purposely choreographed to the music of the Colegio’s alma mater song.

Also scheduled on the same date is the 14th graduate school commencement. The grade school graduation is scheduled on April 2, 2008; the high school graduation will be on April 3, 2008. Both will be held at the main field of the campus.

The high school graduates will be inspired by Atty. Alexander G. Faustino, an alumnus who graduated with honors during his secondary education in Letran-Calamba.  Rev. Fr. Cecilio Vladimir E. Magboo, O.P., also an alumnus of the grade school and high school departments of the Colegio, will speak before the elementary graduates.

This year’s graduation theme adopts the “One for Letran” battle cry of academic year 2007-2008,  “A Knight’s journey: One Letran.”

To all Letranites, the entire Letran-Calamba community is proud of you.  Arriba!
