Bachelor of Science in Nursing
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing course is a four-year formal educational program consisting of subjects in General Education and Professional Nursing. The program is designed to prepare you to become a professional nurse who would:
• Practice Professional Nursing to individuals, families, and groups of any socio-demographic origin, in any setting – institutional or community, of any phase of the health-illness continuum, in the areas of disease prevention, health promotion, restoration and maintenance, and even during the time of death;
• Conduct research and apply research findings to improve the theoretical base of the profession, as well as nursing practice. Use critical thinking process in decision-making in rendering care;
• Provide community services to meet health care needs of specific clients and utilize government and non-government agencies and resources; and recognize the value of pursuing development programs, even after graduation for personal and professional enhancement.
You will be trained at well-equipped laboratories which feature cutting-edge equipment, including simulated nursing labs, a mini-hospital complete with emergency, isolation, and pediatrics rooms, an orthopedic ward, operating and recovery rooms as well as a delivery room and a nursery. You will be prepared for nursing careers in all health-care settings as practitioners, educators, and managers.
As a Letranite Nursing major, you will benefit from a comprehensive curriculum and extensive training given by nursing instructors, most of whom carry Masters in Nursing degrees.
