Letran Calamba School of Nursing Showcases Research Excellence at Tytana’s MDCON 16th Research Congress

On February 21, 2025, Letran Calamba's School of Nursing achieved significant recognition at Tytana’s MDCON 16th Research Congress, themed "Harmonizing Research and Innovation." Level 4 students demonstrated their research capabilities, contributing to the advancement of evidence-based nursing practice.

Mr. Lawrence Lee M. Lazanas delivered a compelling oral presentation titled "Spirituality of Selected Elderly Persons in Calamba City, Laguna: Inputs for Spiritual Nursing Needs Assessment," showcasing critical thinking and analytical skills. This research, conducted in collaboration with Mr. Mark Adriel G. Alvarez, was guided by Faculty Adviser Dr. Emilson B. Vibar, PhDEM, RN, LPT.

Three groups presented visually engaging posters. Ms. Angeline F. Tañala and Ms. Bianca D. Quiambao presented "Assessment of the Awareness on the Health and Environmental Effects of Using Plastic Drinking Bottles." This project was also a collaboration with Ms. Aurealyn A. Villan and was advised by Atty. Javier Benjamin Tongol, RN. Ms. Jianne Risha B. Mercado presented "Coping Mechanisms and Resilience of Undergraduate Nursing Students of Colegio de San Juan de Letran." This research was conducted in collaboration with Ms. Jaycel Heidee Torrejos and advised by Ms. Hazel Vera D. Tan, MAN, RN. Mr. Carl Renanne B. Sabas presented "An Assessment of Knowledge and Utilization of Nursing Students in Letran Calamba Towards Integration of ChatGPT in Nursing Education." This research was also conducted in collaboration  with Ms. Cassandra Ysabel Reyes and Mr. Theo Angelo Q. Quidayan.

The congress, featuring keynote speeches and plenary sessions, provided a comprehensive research experience. Dean Maria Cherry G. Tanodra's presence highlighted Letran Calamba’s commitment to research excellence. This event fostered networking and knowledge exchange, demonstrating Letran Calamba’s leadership in nursing education and its dedication to preparing globally competent nursing professionals.
