Honoring dedication and a well-deserved milestone, the Colegio extends its warmest congratulations to BS Information Technology alumna Ms. Sydney Erly S. Doringo, and her co-researcher, Mr. Japhet Daniel M. Cairo. Representing the institution with distinction, their innovative capstone project, “HearMyHeart: An AI Powered Web Based System for Speech and Emotional Development in Children with Autism at Hope Intervention Center, Calamba Laguna,” was selected as one of the Top 10 finalists at the prestigious STCIEERD 2nd Undergraduate Research and Development Competition. The event took place on July 2, 2026, at the Batangas State University – The National Engineering, Alangilan Campus, Batangas City.
This highly competitive event aims to recognize invaluable undergraduate contributions to the Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology (IEET) sector, serving as a strategic pipeline for identifying high-quality research with strong potential for commercialization, scaling, or future DOST-PCIEERD funding. The finalists were evaluated by an esteemed panel of judges, including Dr. Rogelio T. Galera Jr., CESO III (Regional Director, CHED Region IV), Engr. Francisco R. Barquilla III (Assistant Regional Director for Technical Operations, DOST CALABARZON), and Ms. Marissa C. Argente (Regional Director, DTI Region IV-A).
The Research, Quality Management, and Planning Department (RQMPD), alongside the School of Education, Arts, and Science and Technology (SEAST), express immense pride in this remarkable achievement. Highlighting the project's profound real-world viability, the distinguished judges heavily commended the study, explicitly recommending that HearMyHeart be commercialized and expanded beyond a single government center to benefit broader industry parties and communities.
