JHS Instructional Block Under the DepEd Three-Term Approach
The Instructional Block is the core learning phase of the DepEd Three-Term Academic Calendar where the planned curriculum, learning competencies, and instructional activities are formally delivered. During this period, teachers facilitate meaningful learning experiences that enable learners to acquire knowledge, develop skills, demonstrate values, and achieve the expected learning outcomes prescribed by the MATATAG and K–12 Curriculum.
More importantly, the Instructional Block is where learners deepen their understanding, strengthen critical and creative thinking skills, develop character and leadership, and apply their learning to real-life situations. It serves as the heart of the educational process, transforming classroom experiences into meaningful opportunities for lifelong learning and holistic development.
